I drifted away, slowly, quietly
Almost without notice.
Quiet proclamations from behind a desk,
the words cut like a sword through your heart.
I see you pain.
And I love you!
I know your sleepness nights,
Exhaustion
Burning tears streak your cheeks
And I love you!
You cry, you pray, you scream.
Yes, scream!
Fight for me! Please!
For you are my eyes, my ears, my voice.
And I love you!
Though my body may resist,
Your courage strengthens and
Lifts my spirit soaring to the heavens,
Though my feet don't leave the ground
And I love you!
You look at me, I don't look back,
But my heart sees.
You call my name, I don't respond,
But my heart hears.
You embrace me, I pull away,
But I wrap my heart with your
Love like a cloak that blocks the bitter wind.
And I love you!
This journey is difficult for us both.
Keep you hope, keep your faith, keep your courage.
I know not when or how far into your world
I will return.
But know that my spirit has never left.
For you and I are one
Your love is my very being.
And I love you!
