            Chemist: Wisconsin State Lab of Hygiene (WSLH) Toxicology Section, Madison, WI. December 2001 to present. Responsibilities include testing, method development and research in the clinical metals area of the WSLH toxicology section and analysis of blood/urine for ethanol and appearance in court as an expert witness under WI Statutes 343.305. This position requires the analysis of quality control samples for accuracy and precision and the successful completion of required training. As a chemist in the metals analysis area, my responsibilities include the administration of the Lead Proficiency Testing program under guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  Previously worked for 5 years in the WSLH Environmental Science Section testing hazardous waste, fish, drinking water and wastewater effluent for heavy metal contamination.

            Chemist: Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and  Consumer Protection, Madison, WI. September 1992 to December 2001. Responsible for the preparation and analysis of soil, food and water for pesticide residue utilizing gas chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography and metals utilizing flame, furnace and cold vapor atomic absorption spectrophotometry. Position requires the daily use of Microsoft NT, word, excel and outlook.

            ICP Spectroscopist/Metals Group Leader: RMT Inc. – Madison, WI. October 1988 to September 1992. Responsibilities included the supervision of analysts and technicians for sample preparation and subsequent testing of water, wastewater and solid waste for metals and inorganic parameters. My position included the development and administration of an employee training program for the inorganic chemistry section and data review for quality control compliance. Additional duties included troubleshooting and maintenance for the sections five atomic absorption and inductively coupled plasma spectrometers. Filled in for section supervisor and assumed all duties when they were traveling or unavailable.

Training (2000-2006):

            U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 5 Pesticide Laboratory Workshop, August 2001. A one week workshop utilizing the latest pesticide analytical techniques. A certificate was received for the successful completion of this course.

            Wisconsin State Lab of Hygiene: In- house Training. March-August, 2002. Six months of alcohol literature review, methodology training and hands-on analysis of blood alcohol samples. Analysis of known specimens required for successful completion of training.

            Robert  Borkenstein Course on Alcohol and Highway Safety: Testing ,Research and Litigation. December 1-6, 2002, Indiana University, Bloomington, IN.  A five day course pertaining to the pharmacology, psychomotor, testing, litigation and current science involving drinking and driving. A certificate was received for the successful completion of this course.

            University of Wisconsin Law School in cooperation with the Wisconsin  Department of Transportation 9th Annual Traffic & Impaired Driving Law Program. April 15-16, 2003, Appleton, WI. A two day workshop pertaining to driving while impaired. The topics included law enforcement, testing, assessment and treatment of alcohol and drug dependence issues. A certificate was received for the successful completion of this course.
